And just in case you were wondering what happened IN BETWEEN…watch this:

On yesterday, Atlanta got hit with a few inches of snow.

Although this is nothing compared to what our friends and family are experiencing up North, it was great to see a little of it come our way here in the South. Especially for the kids.

We decided to wake them up early today, put on some layers, and head out to find us a good place to play. We drove around for a little a while, trying to find a nice park or playground to take some good pics of the kids. Couldn’t find one. After about 20 minutes, we then passed by a familiar place; one that we knew instantly would be the perfect spot. Lots of room. And as we discovered, lots of snow.

2010 is proving to be an exciting year for the Ford family.
An exciting one indeed.

On this past Friday, we decided to adopt a new member into our family; one who we look forward to filling our hearts with joy although he lives nearly 8,000 miles away from us.

Our friends at The Village2Village Project have provided us with the opportunity to adopt Okileng ‘Brian’ Joshua, a seven year old who attends Olio Primary School in the heart of Uganda.

Brian is the son of Adeto Hellen Rose, who unfortunately is physically deformed in both of her legs. Due to her condition, a man who didn’t want to be identified got her pregnant and has denied responsibility, so Brian is now staying with his grandmother, Achao Jennet Magarete.

It is our prayer that we can play a small role in the years to come that will assist Achao and The Village2Village project team raise Brian to become all that God desires for him to become.

We can’t wait to get started!

Speaking of better, on yesterday, we all went out and purchased our Christmas tree; perhaps the earliest any one has in Ford family history! Taking in the smell of a freshly cut Frasier Fir while eating the last of our Thanksgiving leftovers is quite the experience. Highly recommend it.

BTW - someone needs to start applying Black Friday sale prices to trees. Just our opinion.
